Student Year of the Year Nominations
🌟 Next Year’s Winner Could Be You or Your Candidate!
Each year, this award recognizes exceptional teacher candidates who have demonstrated excellence in their student teaching experience.Each member institution in good standing may nominate one teacher candidate for the North Carolina Association of Colleges for Teacher Education (NCACTE) Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year Award. One teacher candidate from among the NCACTE member institutions will be selected and recognized as the Outstanding Student Teacher of the Year in North Carolina. This recognition will be celebrated at the annual NCACTE Teacher Education Fall Forum.
Before preparing your submission, review the following materials available on this page:
Submission Guidelines
Each NCACTE member institution may submit one nominee.
The institution’s membership must be in good standing at the time of submission.
The nomination must be submitted by the Dean or approved designee.
The coversheet must be completed and signed by the Dean or approved designee.
The nominee’s personal contact information must be included on the coversheet.
GPA documentation and verification are not required.
The nominee must follow all narrative guidelines and number responses to correspond with the narrative prompts.
The Dean or approved designee must prepare two PDF files:
Coversheet PDF containing nominee information and required signature.
Narrative PDF containing the narrative followed by three letters of recommendation.

Submission Process
The Dean or approved designee must submit both PDF files on behalf of the nominee to stoy@ncacte.org by the published deadline.
Please do not submit:
Resumes
Transcripts
Images (within the narrative or recommendation letters)
More than three letters of recommendation
Only complete submissions that follow all guidelines will be considered for review.
